The national railways in India is called Indian Railways, a government entity under Ministry of Railways, which is the fourth largest railway network in the world. Currently the Indian Railways is committed to augmenting the existing network by improving the speed, doubling of tracks and electrification of all tracks. As part of reducing the maintenance efforts, Indian Railways is adopting Continuously Welded Track over the structures which requires specialist studies called Rail Structure Interaction. Primerail has carried out extensive works in this area for various railways zones. Indian Railways has also started the adoption of Ballastless Track to reduce maintenance efforts and to increase the life of the track. Primerail is currently working as Lead Design checkers for the USBRL Project connecting Srinagar to Dharam, which is national importance project. DFCC which is a PSU entrusted with creating dedicated freight corridors to decongest the existing networks from freight traffic. Primerail has been closely associated with the contractors and have prepared the first set of Operation and Maintenance Manuals for Track, Bridges, Buildings and OHE works. NHSRCL an SPV of the MoR is currently executing India’s first high speed (350kmph) line from Mumbai to Ahmedabad.
